The Story Behind East Boogie BBQ
Founded in 2024 by Jonathan Ivy, a classically trained chef with years of experience in Raleigh’s top restaurants, East Boogie BBQ was inspired by his father, James A. Ivy, Sr., a preacher from East St. Louis, IL, and a true pitmaster at heart.
In 2012, they crafted a signature BBQ sauce—a secret recipe of bold flavors and rich tradition. But it wasn’t until 2024 that Jonathan perfected it, sharing it with Houston Vines of VMG Marketing and Media. The sauce was so impressive that Houston became an investor and partner, giving rise to East Boogie BBQ.
From fall-off-the-bone ribs to perfectly grilled pork steaks and chicken, East Boogie BBQ isn’t just about great food—it’s about preserving tradition with chef-driven excellence. Every bite tells a story of passion, patience, and a love for the craft.
